so to stick with my original plan of writing about music i guess i'll get back on track. sorry about the last random post (just felt like writing about that)
well recently there has been a new song (is it new? or is it just new to me? who knows?) that basically depicts college perfectly (or at least semi-perfect). its called "i love college" by asher roth. here are some lyrics that really caught my eye:
"with my good friends is all i need
pass out at 3 wake up at 10
go out to eat then do it again"
no if you've done this raise your hand. and if you didn't raise your hand use the hand that you didn't raise and smack yourself in the face for lying.
now if you have heard the song, it is not a perfect example of college (or longwood for that matter) but it is definitely a good representation of the fun weekends, crazy weekdays, and everything else that makes college fun and entertaining.
"i cant tell you what i learned from school
but i could tell you a story or two"
everything about this song just makes me think about how i'll never forget the crazy times that my friends and i have had on a friday night (whether it involves a party or not). i'll always remember the story of pavlov's dog and i'll never forget how to write a case study (thank you dr. rao) but i'll always come home for breaks and laugh my ass off at that one time i found my roommate dancing in an empty room to "hotel california" by the eagles and simply shaking my head as a response.
"do i really have to graduate
or can i just stay here for the rest of my life?"
i'm ready to move out into the real world; but am i ready to grow up? am i ready to wake up and simply remember that mound of paperwork i finished the night before? am i ready to leave the classroom experience and the nightlife that IS college? ....not now.
"man i love college"
