hey are we dead yet?

so...the summer is still GRRREAT (as tony the tiger would say). there have been a few mishaps though. to start off i will say all of the things that amanda and myself have done without causing trouble (surprisingly).
1. amanda lives in norfolk (nuff said).
2. i've been living in the big city of franklin my whole life
3. i was in baltimore after the orioles won...walking down dark allies and scenes of gun shots
4. we've driven past gang initiation sightings

there is a lot that could have gone wrong in these four scenarios...yet didn't. amanda and i tend to find more trouble being just the two of us then when we do dangerous things with a group (coincidence? i think not. amanda is bad luck...she will disagree if asked but just go with me on this one)

last night we innocently went to wal-mart (the town "hot spot") for paper and a movie. on our way out we were approached by a man at a red light. had it been 12 hours earlier and the man didn't smell of liquor things would have been great and we probably would have sat down for coffee with him at the local huddle house. HOWEVER...he was creepy and recently released from prison (where we don't know what he did but were assured it was not rape). he asked for a smoke, a handshake, money, and a kiss on the "jaw" and after 3 yes's we had to downright refuse the last request. how does this happen? well when a person is in prison for however many years and their only prayer is that they will meet two white women at a stoplight...god answers prayers. thanks god. (not to be sacreligious or anything...but c'mon)

anyways...beach trips have been great. more to come. work sucks. sun is amazing. i passed out the other day...that was exciting. (:

oh and i'm still alive...clearly.
