So I, along with the majority of college students between Hampden-Sydney's campus and Longwood's campus, went to the Girl Talk/Funky Monks concert on Thursday (GREEK WEEK).
The atmosphere was to be expected: hundreds of already "feeling good" students, hundreds of I'm-going-to-stay-"feeling-good"-because-I'm-over-21 students, good music that everyone already knew, GLOW STICKS, and friends. I had the time of my life.
Now for those of you who do not know who Girl Talk is or who the Funky Monks are here you go:
Girl Talk = Gregg Gillis, a turn table, and thousands of unauthorized songs that he mixes together and creates a frenzy amongst college students. He's the guy that no one expected to be as HUGE as he is today.
The Funky Monks = Red Hot Chili Peppers's cover band...SUPER GOOD!!!
Anyways, this concert was great and Longwood's Spring Weekend will have to do a lot to top it....
ps...it rained and i never made it on my run to Hampden-Sydney. FAIL (;
